The Dora Franchise

What is the Dora Franchise?

The Dora franchise is all the shows and the one movie that features the titular charcter Dora Marquez or her cousin Diego. This includes Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, Dora and Friends: Into the City, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, and the newest reboot, Dora.

How Much Did You Watch Of Each Show?

  • Dora The Explorer (Favorite): A lot of episodes, to the point that I have favorite episodes
  • Go Diego Go: Almost none of them, to the point that I don't remember anything about the show
  • Dora and Friends (Favorite): Into the City: A lot of episodes, mostly the two-parters I go back to, which happen to be my favorite episodes
  • Dora (Least Favorite): Could not get past the first episode after it's official release. Which is weird because I had such a good time with the free youtube episodes

The Rainforest

The Rainforest, Dora's hometown, is a dense rainforest with mountains, many gooey geysers, at least two different towns and a lot of magic. This magic can be found in the talking flora, fauna, and other objects, the fact that magical objects can be created with seemingly regular skillsets, and the gateways to other, more magical lands.

Playa Verde

Playa Verde is a city in California about 1 relatively short bus ride away from The Rainforest. It is where Dora lived in DAF, and where Pablo, Kate, Emma, Naiya, and Alana lived in the same show. Magic is not as present in Playa Verde as it is in The Rainforest, but still in portals to places like Doggyland, Oprea Land, and Baila (Hopefully other offscreen portals lead to places with more creative naming). Fun fact: Playa Verde is actually a place you can go to. However in real life it's a beach, not a city.

Dora's Explorer Girls

Dora's Explorer Girls was a one special series first introducing an older Dora as the main character of the show. The special followed Dora and her new friends Kate, Emma, Naiya, and Alana as they tried to get their concert tickets back after Alana accidentally donated them (or morely the blue jacket that had them in it's pocket). The show also had it's own website (which I reference in one of my headcanons heavily) with bios for the main qintent, videos to watch (most of them were about how the girls met), a dog shelter themed game to play, and an ebook to read.
